Dassault Systèmes and CADCAM Group

On August 1st, 2018, CADCAM Group and Dassault Systèmes signed a long-term partnership agreement for the new mechatronic collaboration solution based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The partnership aims to develop EDMD collaboration protocol which connects ECAD software application to CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE for electro-mechanical product development.

MECODES introduces a new methodology for multi-domain collaboration during the design of electromechanical products. To improve product design, achieve cost reduction and enable more interdisciplinary innovation, MECODES adopts the latest technologies, data exchange formats, and protocols.

3DEXPERIENCE is a comprehensive business platform which enables the creation of more than a product. It integrates various brands and solutions of Dassault Systèmes – CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, 3DVIA, DYMOLA, ICEM, EXALEAD, NETVIBES. Those solutions are integrated via a consistent user concept and integrated product data model to a seamless solution. All users work integrated into a single collaborative and interactive environment with a unique database as software solutions are integrated into a unique solution through a consistent customer concept and an integrated product data model.

The designers and engineers in the two disciplines – mechanical and electrical who work with CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE and any ECAD software from Mentor like Xpedition and PADS, Cadence Allegro or OrCAD and Altium Designer form Altium. The users can collaborate on electrical and mechanical design simultaneously and checking electrical board outlines, component placements, routings, silk screens, silk mask, vias and transform in 3D models for the entire electro-mechanical product. The ECAD designers can cross-examine the MCAD data and the MCAD designers can cross-examine the ECAD data.
